Overview
John Dunlop is an Australian mining engineer with over 54 years of experience in both surface and underground mining. He holds Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Mining Engineering from the University of Melbourne. John’s career spans base metal and precious metal production, management, and consulting roles across more than 30 countries. After teaching and research at Melbourne University, he worked for BHP, leaving in 1988 as Mine Manager at Yampi Sound. He later became General Manager Operations at Aztec Mining Co., overseeing developments at Bounty, Golden Grove, and Woodcutters before establishing his own consulting group in North Queensland, where he has served a global clientele for over 32 years. John has held leadership positions with companies such as Alliance Resources and Alkane Resources and was awarded the Beryl Jacka Award by the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy in 2007.
